HOLIDAY HELPINGS!
The Holidays are approaching rapidly and so are the Hackers. Around the holiday season, more malicious emails and websites arise. Spammed messages with wrongful intent increase 8% during this time.
Threat techniques - Watch out for the spam messages with links. Some may even slip pass your spam filter and show up in your inbox. These messages look authentic. But beware, there is something in the email that will tip you off that it's not the real deal.
Don't take chances...Use a Firewall. Keep your operting system up to date. Update your antivirus and antispyware software regularly. Use a spam filter.
Protect your Password. 60% of us use the same password for everything. This is a very dangerous habit. Don't suffer expensive losses from fraud. Protect yourself using the CAN attitude. Create a password from a phrase, for example:
My Best Friends Birthday in on the 4th of December. Your password would be:
MBFBIOT4OD
But you have to remember what your catch phrase is.
You CAN come up with some fun passwords this way. Change your password frequently.
For any information on the above tips, please feel free to call our office. We would be happy to assist you with any questions you may have.
Happy Holidays!
